ABOUT SOMETHING EXTRA

In 1977 Lori-Ann Wynter led a group of women, clad in tuxedos, onto the stage at the end of Dwight Jam. The emcee, overwhelmed by the confidence and poise of the women, stuttered: "And to conclude the night, here's a little...Something Extra." The spell cast that night has yet to be lifted.

FOUNDING

1981
Something Extra got all new members and all new style. The guard had been changed and the new ladies felt the need for a makeover. They swapped out their tuxes for black gowns. Without red carnations, they accessorized with red opera gloves.
COSTUME CHANGE

Something Extra became more popular than ever. They performed at private, university, and corporate events, restaurants, schools, and retirement homes. They also recorded albums and studied hard. SE women basked in their new success. They worked hard to write new music and become even closer friends, a trend that has continued with the current group.
BRANCHING OUT
1994
Unphased by Y2K, Something Extra was planning big things for the new millenium. They decided to start touring. Something Extra started modestly, with a Boston tour, but before long they were going to places like San Francisco, Texas, China, Jamaica, England, and many more. They ventured to the hostile land of television, performing on the set of Jeopardy! in addition to diplomatic hot spots like embassies and The White House.
